Measure Your Opening For Ordering

WIDTH: Measure between the jambs at 3 points. Measure at top, middle and bottom of window opening. Measure from the (W1) surface of the jambs, not from the trim strips or parting strips in your old window opening.)

Use the SMALLEST of these 3 measurements to order the window.

HEIGHT: Measure from the (H1) High Point of the sill of your window (the surface closest to the inside of window) to the (H2) top of the window opening. Make 2 measurements. One at the left side of the window and one at the right side of the window.

Use the SMALLEST of these 2 height measurements to order the window!

Take these 2 dimensions, for each window you are ordering to your dealer. He will supply you with the correct size windows for your openings.

Note: Window Rough Opening DEPTH Dimensions Needed
(Ignore all pulleys and parting strips when measuring for depth dimension as they will be removed replacement window installation.)

There must be at least 3 1/4" of opening depth between the inside (D1) Window trim and the outside (D2) Blind Stop Strip.

This much area is needed to accept the depth of the replacement window!

(If this much depth are is not available the outside Blind Stop Strip will have to be removed and replaced further toward the outside of the opening.)

  • Remove parting beads H.

When installing screws, do not over tighten them as it will pull the frame out of line. Tighten screws just snug against the vinyl.

  • Fit the Sill Angle with its large leg up and short leg beneath the window.
  • Temporarily hold the window in the opening to determine whether or not the top expander channel is needed. If window fits snugly top to bottom, the top expander may be removed before installation or trimmed for a better fit.
  • Apply a liberal caulking bead along the inside of the blind stop at the top and both sides where the window frame will make contact. Also apply caulking beneath the sill angle.
